Everything You need to Know About Flying Qatar Airways QSuite
Ever wondered what it’s like to fly in ultimate comfort with 5-star hotel-like amenities, privacy, and service? Qatar Airways is amongst the top air carriers in the world, especially when it comes to the utmost comfort and some of the world’s best business-class services.
When I first flew in the business class suites, I knew I would be in for a seriously luxurious in-flight experience. If experiencing these suites is something that piques your interest, look no further. Here is everything you need to know about flying Qatar QSuites.
Qatar QSuite Layout and Seats
Welcome onboard the best business class in the sky -- Qatar QSuites. It rightfully earned this title for a number of reasons. For starters, these seats are configured in a pattern where odd-numbered seats are rear-facing, and even-numbered seats are forward-facing.
Each suite is sectioned off with a sliding suite door, and each seat can transform into a lie-flat bed with a built-in massager.
One of the most unique features for seats in the middle is that they can be configured into a suite that includes 4 nearby seats. This is particularly great if you’ll be traveling in a group with friends or family.
Not to mention, the bathroom onboard has a window so you can peep right out into the skies as you do your business.
Qatar QSuite’s On-Board Amenities
Each suite also comes with 21.5-inch touchscreen monitors for movies and entertainment, a light-up “do not disturb” sign for extra privacy, and media panels for chargers, USB cables, and HDMI cords.
You’ll also be treated to some in-flight pampering with their complimentary amenity kits. These are packed with Castello Monte Vibiano skincare products. And if you’re on a long-haul, overnight flight, your Qatar QSuite experience will include the softest set of pajamas from The White Company.
The Infamous Qatar Airlines Service
QSuite or not, Qatar Airways is well-known for its world-class 5-star service. However, flying with Qatar QSuites undoubtedly elevates these services to brand new heights. For example, your menu selection now includes any cuisine that tickles your fancy from a Mediterranean Mezze platter (one of my favorites) to a bottle of fine French Cabernet.
Of course, the flight attendants make your flight extra special with their kindness and hospitality. Seriously, there isn’t a better way to fly.
Which Routes Can You Currently Fly in QSuite?
While flight paths and routes can change at any point in time, here are a few routes you can take if experiencing Qatar’s QSuite is high on your bucket list.
If you’re flying from the US, you could expect flights from Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington Dulles to Doha.
From Europe to Doha, you can hop on board in Amsterdam, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Zurich, and Stockholm just to name a few.
You can also from major cities in Asia like Shanghai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Mumbai en route to Doha.
How to Use Points for QSuite
Qatar is part of the Oneworld airline alliance. This means you have several options when it comes to redeeming points for a trip in the QSuite. Here are some of the most common airline points and miles that you can redeem.
If you have miles with American Airlines AAdvantage, you can expect to claim…
140,000 miles for a round trip from the US to Doha
85,000 miles for a round trip from Europe to Doha
Approximately 80,000 miles for a round trip from major cities in Asia to Doha
Travel to and from Asia frequently? You might have some extra Cathay Pacific Asia Miles. Whether you’re planning to travel to Doha from the United States, Europe, or Asia, you can expect to claim more than 100,000 miles for each round-trip flight.
There are other redemption options within the Oneworld airline alliance, so be sure to check the redemption requirements for each airline prior to booking.
Hamad International Airport in Doha
Wherever you’re traveling to and from, you’re likely to spend some time at the Hamad International Airport if you’re flying in style with Qatar’s QSuite. Their hospitality and exceptional service continue on, making the Hamad International Airport a great destination for a long layover.
From the moment you step off the plane, you’ll receive a personal escort from Al Maha’s service team to your next destination. Since I had a brief layover, I headed right to the hotel located right at the terminal, checked in, and hit the gym. You could also take a refreshing plunge in their pool.
But if you’re not there for a layover, allotting a bit more time to spend at the Hamad International Airport is a great option prior to your departure from Doha. Not only will you have less pressure to make your flight on time, but you’ll also have the opportunity to shop around at stores like Harrod’s, eat at the lounge, or nap in their hotel, all before boarding your flight.
Final Thoughts on My Experience On Qatar’s QSuites
All in all, Qatar Airlines provides exceptional, world-class service. Their QSuites turn an otherwise long and arduous journey (like my recent flight to Seychelles from LAX) into one that’s luxurious, comfortable, and an unforgettable experience.
No in-flight business experience comes close to what QSuites has to offer. Redeeming your miles and points (if you have them) is a great option, but the experience truly is worth every penny if flying in style is something you’d like to experience.
But a fair word of warning - flying QSuites may make you a flight snob and going back to economy will be way tougher than you think— if not, impossible!
