The W Bangkok

Upon arriving to the W Bangkok, I was immediately impressed. The property is stunning. The staff was incredibly welcoming and warm and made sure to make my stay very special.

Excellent service is very important to me and the W has a "Whatever, Whenever" policy. This means as long as what you want isn't illegal, they will get you whatever you want, whenever you want it. I wanted local food, great views and some custom tailored silk shorts. Their "W Insider" Mike was knowledgeable, and understood I wanted local recommendations, and not tourist spots, he even took time out of his day after work to show me around since I would otherwise be alone. He also recommended some fantastic local food spots and bars, as well as a tailor that could make some quality items for me in the short amount of time that I was in Bangkok.

The location of the W Bangkok is fantastic. It's outside of the crazy backpacker areas, and in the swankier financial district. It's easy to get around by taxi and even easier by public transportation. The sky train is just around the corner and the ferry is only two stops on the skytrain. These are the fastest and least expensive ways to get around town.

Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, I felt my experience at the W Bangkok was best expressed in photos.

From the moment you step into the W Bangkok to check-in, you are surrounded with unique pieces of art and decor that all represent the surrounding city of Bangkok.

All rooms are decorated with these unique sequined boxing gloves, representing the popularity of Muay Thai in the region. They are also really fun to play with!

The pool is unique and although it is relaxing during the day, it is a hot spot for some of the hottest roof-top parties in Bangkok.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and the W definitely understands that because the buffet breakfast at the Kitchen Table restaurant is insanely delicious. Amazing pastries, fruits, eggs any way that you want them and of course asian breakfast options! I couldn't help but overload on carbs. I left so full every morning that I'd make it to the afternoon before I was hungry again!

After a long day with a jam-packed Bangkok itinerary, the W Bangkok has the perfect places to relax, with giant bathtubs in rooms and an incredible services at the Away Spa. I had the Diamonds Are Forever treatment, and it was amazing! It was a 120 minute treatment using real diamond powder! It consists of a 30 minute scrub, a 30 minute wrap and an hour long massage. They even let you pick the accent color of the room! My skin was so smooth after, which was a perfect way to start my two week trip and recover from jet lag!
