Lo & Sons is one of those brands that I absolutely love and am thrilled to be able to work with. It’s hard to find a functional travel purse that is also fashionable, but Lo & Sons has nailed it.

Using high-quality leathers and canvas in fashionable designs and colors, they have perfected travel handbags for both fashion and function. The company was founded by a frequent flyer who saw the need for lightweight, fashionable travel gear. Lo & Sons is perhaps best known for their weekender bags, but they have several different products, from wallets to backpacks. These are some of my favorite Lo & Sons products.

Claremont

This camera bag is what really made me fall in love with Lo & Sons. I’ve been carrying this bag, in several colors, for four years now. The Claremont looks like a fashionable handbag but is actually a discreet camera bag for your DSLR. If you’ve ever tried to find a cute camera bag, you know it’s like finding a unicorn. And they always look like a camera bag, which makes me feel like a target for thieves when I’m traveling.

You would never guess the Claremont is a camera bag, but it has special features like SD Card slots and pocket dividers, that are perfect for traveling photographers. I love this bag in basic colors but was super excited when they launched Sage Green, Deep Navy, and Santa Fe red. Find out why I think this is the best camera bag for women.

Pearl

I love the Pearl handbag because it’s so sleek and elegant, but it holds so much stuff, which makes it the perfect travel purse for me when I need a little extra room. With a convertible strap, this purse can be worn as a crossbody bag, a shoulder bag, and even a wristlet.

This handbag can hold a 16oz water bottle, or a point-and-shoot camera, plus all of your daily essentials, like makeup and money. You’d never know how much it can hold by the slim design! The Pearl comes in two types of leather. Nappa leather is smooth, natural grain leather, while Saffiano leather is scratch and water-resistant for durability. I love the Saffiano version of the Pearl because it holds its shape, even when I squish it into my luggage.

Trusted Travel Tip: When packing your handbags in your luggage, fill them with items like socks and underwear. This helps the purse keep its shape, and also saves on luggage space!

The Waverly 2

For an even slimmer design than the Pearl handbag, the Waverly is my go-to purse. Designed as a cross-body bag, it can also be worn as a belt bag, a wristlet, or a shoulder bag! Wearing the Waverly 2 as a cross-body or belt bag feels super secure, as my purse is close to my body, but I am still hands-free as I travel around town. Crossbody bags are generally more secure, and I worry less about pickpockets when I’m carrying a crossbody bag.

Lo & Sons has just updated the bag to include a secure slot on the outside of the bag, which I find is perfect for storing my hotel keycard. The Waverly 2 comes in two sizes (small and large) but I find them to be very similar, so if you are on the fence, I recommend going with the larger one. The Lo & Sons wallet fits both sizes but slides easily into the larger Waverly 2. I love the size of this bag because I can carry it as a purse, but when I’m boarding a plane and need to consolidate items, it fits easily into my backpack without taking up much room. It’s small but will fit most of your long-haul flight essentials, like an eye mask, vitamins, and amenities.

Trusted Travel Tip: Don’t keep your hotel room number with the key card. Record the number in your phone, and keep the keycard in a space you’re not getting in and out of all day.

The Leather Wallet

Like travel purses, there are plenty of travel wallets on the market, but very few that are fashionable and durable. Lo & Sons has designed the perfect travel wallet with just the right amount of features, in a super slim profile. There’s an inside zipper pocket for change, two main pockets, two slip pockets, and both vertical and horizontal card slots. The slip pockets are perfect for carrying multiple currencies at once, which is pretty key when you’re visiting multiple countries in one trip. The wallet can hold your passport, boarding pass, and even a slim cell phone! Like the Pearl, the wallet comes in both Nappa leather and Saffiano leather, in 18 different leather/color/hardware combinations.

Catalina Deluxe Tote

I am obsessed with the versatility of this canvas weekender bag. I use it on its own for quick weekend trips or carry it as my personal item when flying. The luggage sleeve makes it easy to slide right on the handle of your carryon bag, and a padded shoulder strap ensures you can easily carry it as a shoulder bag as well. This bag has been redesigned a few times, each time adding more thoughtful features that somehow don’t add to the weight of the bag, which is really important when you’re running through an airport! There are pockets tucked away everywhere you would need them, and a convenient shoe tray on the bottom that keeps your shoes separate from everything else in the bag. This is a super cute high-quality bag with a casual, relaxed look that I love.

The Hanover 2

In my years of travel, I have accumulated and tested several backpacks. When Lo & Sons initially recommended I try their Hanover 2 backpack, I was lukewarm on the idea. I love their bags, but I wasn’t looking for another backpack. Well, the joke’s on me because I pretty much carry this backpack every day, both at home and on the road.

For a backpack, it’s very slim and discreet. It’s high quality, like all Lo & Sons products, but doesn’t draw attention as a flashy designer backpack would. It has a laptop sleeve inside, a super-soft lined pocket on the top for sunglasses or cell phones, and I carry all of my high-end photography equipment without feeling like a target. One thing I never knew I needed was an interior pocket for a water bottle, but it makes perfect sense. How many times have you bent over or leaned down only to have your water bottle fall out of the side pocket of your backpack? Problem solved with the Hanover 2! I absolutely love the simplicity and function of this backpack.
